CodeGeneration 2009 Keynote
I am pleased to announce that I'll be delivering a keynote at the 2009 edition of the Code Generation
conference. The topic is still in the works, but I am really looking forward to that. The other keynote at the conference will be given by Steve Kelly
The Code Generation conference is one of the premier venues on practical issue all around MDSD, DSM, etc. The last two years were a lot of fun, and I am sure 2009 will be great, too.
Just in case you didn't download it yet: go, do it now - better yet, preorder the CD. After listening a couple of times, I have to say I really really like it. Go get it, and give it a try!
(last post on this, promised :-))
New Marillion Album available Online
are about to release a new album called "Happiness is the Road" on October 20. In addition to the official CD release (which you can preorder here
) they have also made the entire album available online via P2P
The band argue that the files will be put online anyway, so they decided to do it themselves. There's a little trick though: to be able to play the WMA files, you have to give them your email address so they can annouce tour dates to you (after all, touring is how bands earn money these days!).
I think that's a pretty good deal, and I downloaded the stuff immediately (I also preordered the CD :-)). Marillion have been innovative in regards to band-fan relations before (conventions, wonderful website, etc.), and this is another step in the right direction ("music 2.0").
Apart from all of this, I have to say the music is really really good on this album! It is their 15th release, and while I have to give it a couple of more listens, I think this (double) album might rate among my favourites.
Give it a try! It's free (find the torrents via Google), and really good music!
